Hongte provided a much-needed escape for me, nestled on an island teeming with activity yet maintaining a tranquil feel. The spacious bungalows, surrounded by lush gardens, offered peace after a day of exploring. I especially appreciated my individual balcony, where I watched the sun dip below the horizon, a perfect spot for reflection after a day in nature. The outdoor swimming pool became my go-to for relaxation, surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas, a nice touch for lounging under the sun. While the breakfast selection wasn't overly extensive, it was satisfactory-a comforting start with eggs made to order and fresh fruit. The hosts were gracious and quick to resolve any mix-ups I had regarding costs, making me feel welcome. If you seek a balance between relaxation and an adventurous spirit, this spot could serve you well. Just bear in mind Koh Lak's bustling atmosphere might not appeal to those desiring a more authentic travel experience.
