Hongte provided a much-needed escape for me, nestled on an island teeming with activity yet maintaining a tranquil feel. The spacious bungalows, surrounded by lush gardens, offered peace after a day of exploring. I especially appreciated my individual balcony, where I watched the sun dip below the horizon, a perfect spot for reflection after a day in nature. The outdoor swimming pool became my go-to for relaxation, surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas, a nice touch for lounging under the sun. While the breakfast selection wasn’t overly extensive, it was satisfactory—a comforting start with eggs made to order and fresh fruit. The hosts were gracious and quick to resolve any mix-ups I had regarding costs, making me feel welcome. If you seek a balance between relaxation and an adventurous spirit, this spot could serve you well. Just bear in mind Koh Lak's bustling atmosphere might not appeal to those desiring a more authentic travel experience.
